Let’s get back into it with a long-overdue review on Captain Liliana from the Queen’s Blade Rebellion franchise. Made by Megahouse, this is our second figure from the line and with our first, Iron Staff Officer Ymir, being so well made, we had high expectations of Liliana. To be honest, we had no idea who Liliana was when we ordered her. We just saw a pink haired pirate with an awesome design and great sculpt. When she came in, it was a nice surprise to see her come with so many different options and accessories. For one, she is cast-off, so that means this review is most definitely NSFW. And for the rest, well, that’s what this review will go into…
Captain Liliana herself comes from the Queen’s Blade Rebellion franchise, which is a sequel to the original Queen’s Blade series by Hobby Japan. The original source is an RPG type book based on the Lost Worlds franchise. Liliana’s book is illustrated by Morisawa Haruyuki. I’m not too familiar with it but apparently Liliana used to be a feared pirate captain until the Kraken took her down. She was resurrected by the Swamp Witch to fight as one of her minions and can command a phantom pirate ship and crew. Until it disintegrated. She upholds some code of aesthetics and has a weak spot for the elderly. You can read more about Liliana’s backstory here.

Liliana is a 1/8 figure and sculpted by Kibayashi Norio. She’s a decent sized 1/8 figure, they definitely do not skimp on size. I really like the sassy pose they’ve given her with her hip jutted out, it gives her a lot of character. I’ve noticed some people have had trouble with her hat and in the picture above and below, I’ve actually held it on with a bit of blu-tack. In actuality, there are grooves in the underside of it that match her bangs and when it’s fitted in just right, it sits pretty snug, even to the point of staying on when turning her upside down.

Her jacket is one of my favorite parts of the figure, there are so many ruffles and they are done quite nicely. Even with all the other awesome display options, the jacket has to be on. The ruffles have a slight pinkish pearlescent shine to them. There are a few paint imperfections here and there but its pretty understandable with the amount of ruffles and nothing that really stands out. The dress itself is a soft-ish plastic that stays rigid enough to hold it’s shape but has enough give so that when you have to take it off, you can bend it slightly.

You can take the jacket off and replace her arms with the sleeveless versions. I’ve taken the jacket off and put it back on numerous times and have been impressed that there’s been no paint transfer so far. The seam lines in her arms are well hidden by her arm bands. You can also notice that I’ve changed her expression, this is done by replacing her entire head. Yes, even all that glorious flowing pink hair is duplicated. She looks kind of like some hip girl out on the town with that top and skirt so I made her a shopping bag for this shoot.

The one issue I have with this figure is the giant boobs. I know, it’s almost a crime for me to even think that. But they’re so out of proportion to the rest of her, especially her thin waist, and the red top only accentuates it. Luckily her jacket helps to hide it a little and fully cast off it’s not so bad either. Originally, in the unpainted sculpt, her boobs weren’t as large but for some reason they pumped them up for the final version. Sadness.
Casting her fully off is pretty simple, her top has a peg to undo on the side and her skirt works the same. However, there is one more accessory to protect her modesty, the starfish nipple covers! Ok, so it doesn’t really cover much but they’re pretty cool. The covers are made of a soft rubbery material that just stick nicely to her nipples. If the weather is a bit dry, a little bit of moisture helps. Elsewhere, her body sculpt is nice with a nice stomach, lovely thighs, and Megahouse has thrown shading in all the right places.
Finally fully cast off! As you can see, her arms have changed as well, Megahouse have thrown in 4 right arms and 3 right arms in various states of dress and poses. These particular arms fit her ‘Aahn!’ facial expression better. Her pink panties have a nice bit of ruffle in them are and seem to be super tight as they’re giving one hell of a cameltoe.
As you can see, you get a lot of bang for your buck with Captain Liliana. Again, there’s her various arms and hands, her armbands for when she’s bare-armed, the starfish nipple covers, her rapier and pistol/crossbow, the ‘Ahhn!’ head, all her clothes, and the plain base that seems to be the common factor among all Queen’s Blade Rebellion figures. Surprisingly, even with all this, her box isn’t some ridiculous size. Megahouse did a great job in layering her packaging efficiently and as you can see the box isn’t much bigger than her.
I would highly recommend Liliana even if you’re not into Queen’s Blade and just a fan of sexy pirates with pink hair and starfish nipple covers. We managed to pick up Liliana at AmiAmi for 6230 yen. Unfortunately, as a result of my tardiness with getting this review out, she is long sold out at all the major Japanese retailers but you might be able to find her secondhand or in a local shop.
You can also check out BioToxic’s great review of Liliana here.
As an aside, I’m glad to finally squeeze this review out. This was the result of 5 different shoots and I’ve thrown out all the pictures from 2 of those. I’m still not quite happy with some of these. It’s quite hard to come out of a break and get the motivation to do a decent review. It’s taught me quite a lot on how creativity, willpower, and motivation factor into making a decent product. Zai is also working on a review at the moment so hopefully we’ll be able to get rolling again.
Update: At the request of hamstercorp, I’ve taken a few more shots. Sexy idea!

Its been a while, nice to see you back in action.
The pirate girl looks really pretty, I didn’t expect she would come with so many accesoires, makes it hard to decide how to display her, because she looks good in every combination, even without the top and the jacket, her underwear is quite fancy I would say.
The faces are nice with the pink eyes, I also like her a lot with the ecchi face *kyahh*.
Somehow I don’t think her boobs are too big, hehe maybe I watched too much Queens Blade, or Soniko corrupted my love for smaller boobs, anyway I like it XD
The pics of her are also nice I like the idea with the bag and the coins.
Have you thrown the coins in the background or did you hang them up somewhere?

The jacket is my favorite so she’s mostly displayed with that on but the starfish nipple covers are a close second. I do like the underwear, the cameltoe bothers Zai a little but I find it rather hot
Haha, Sonico, I rather like her big boobs because the rest of her body matches up. But Liliana’s looks a little weird with just the red top because it’s so out of proportion to her bare waist. In fact, one of her boobs is nearly as thick as her waist. But once you remove the thickness of her top and get her nekkid, I think it looks a lot better
Thanks! The coins in the background are actually just taped onto our blank TV screen in different angles. The depth of field blurriness hides the tape well, haha. I experimented with throwing them around but without a flash or a full-on sunny day, my shutter speed wasn’t fast enough to get the picture. Then I tried taping them to plastic wrap but the glare from that was too much to hide. But on a blank TV screen is just right.
This is such a nice looking figure. I’m impressed with the sheer amount of stuff she comes with. And to hear that each one of the pieces serves to hide the seem lines, really neat. I wanted one but I was too slow in ordering so I wasn’t able to get one =/.
I think the boobs are fine, isn’t that what queens blade is about? Big breasts and small waists, yay! Though that’s just my preference =P. I don’t know what’s the reasoning behind figures and nipple covers though. It’s not like they covers much anyway, I just don’t understand.
The chocolate coin shots are fun. Really fitting of a pirate.

She’s like a full-sized sexy Nendoroid! Aww man! You might be able to get her secondhand someday. Over 200 people own her on MFC, theres bound to be sales coming up.
I suppose I should have expected nothing less of a Queen’s Blade figure, lol. Nipple covers are great. They try to preserve tiny shreds of modesty but fail pretty miserably at doing so and that just adds to the hotness. On sexy women, its a good thing when clothes fail to do their job.
Ah, how did you know they were chocolate coins? I actually only managed to find them recently in the months it took me to do this review and only thanks to the Christmas candy section. Wait, what do chocolate coins have to do with Christmas?
That’s a lot of accessories for a static figure. Wonder if they’re trying to make them have more value considering the action figure explosion…
Did you take any pics of her with the red top and skirt off, but still wearing the jacket? That seems like it’d be a pretty nice set up!
I’ve added them above but here are the links. Great idea, I think it came out nice

Excellent!

Her jacket is nice, but I actually like her weapons more, I’m a sucker for small highly-detailed items like that. I find her boobs a bit too big too. Some girls think that us guys just want big boobs, but not if they don’t fit the girl.

The weapons are nice and I appreciate the fact that Megahouse included 2 of them. I do prefer the arms holding the weapons instead of the ones grabbing herself. In fact, now I wish they made it so she could dual wield.
Yay for proportions!
Her waist bothers me more than her boobs. It’s a touch too narrow, I think. Love this figure though! She’s great value for money.
Love the gold coin idea although I do wish you’d maybe fiddle with the lighting on one or two to make it look abit less clean and more sort of aged looking? I guess when I think pirate I always think those sort of worn wanted posters but maybe I’ve just been watching too much One Piece haha…
Ah dammit. That’s a good idea. Although the aged look doesn’t go as well with the deep black I have in my backgrounds for these photos. I did it for my GSC contest entry with BRS Animation ver but I had her on a white background originally, making it easy to stick a multiply layer with some ‘aged’ texture over it. I’d definitely like to try it sometime though because that would make an epic photo. Now I just need to hide a bunch of coins from Zai before she eats them all…
Her breasts look great! Actually, the anatomical feature I’d quibble with the most is her neck when she’s fully castoff; she looks kinda like she’s meant to wear her choker. I’ve got no problem with anything else, though – she looks pimp with her jacket on and skirt and top off.
I wonder how they’ll fit all these characters into the Rebellion anime series. It seems like there are a lot of Rebellion characters now and since a lot of the original cast gets rolled into the sequel, it doesn’t seem like there’s going to be enough screentime for everyone to appear.

Hmm, now that you mention it, it does look a little long. I guess that’s probably why I prefer the choker on. I do like the pimp outfit a lot after trying it out, I might try displaying her like that for awhile with her starfish nipple covers. Good call hamstercorp.
I’m not familiar with the Rebellion series but reading the Wiki for this review, it seemed like the story is more interesting. To be honest, I tried watching the first Queen’s Blade episode and dropped it right there. But I might give Rebellion a try.
Ah such a lovely figure. I really wanted this but was a bit skeptical of the quality but guess I was wrong.
I love pirate girls, especially pink ones! The price for her is quite good, especially for the quality.
Idk why but I prefer her in the cast off option^^”!
Lovely photos and a nice detailed review on this figure. I might pick her up but will depend on my budget^^”
Glad to see you guys coming back with figure reviews! (reminds me that I need to do some too^^”!)

Aww, Megahouse seem like they’re a mid-upper tier company, although not quite as good as Alter and GSC, they’re at least consistent with quality and I’d feel very comfortable buying their products if they made something I liked. And they’re usually a decent amount cheaper than GSC and Alter.
Thanks! She seemed to sell out at all the major retailers fairly quickly but you might be able to catch one secondhand, not sure if there’d be markup though.
It’s been a while since your last review on here. I was starting to worry you’d become fed up ^^. Glad to see you’re both back – hopefully Zai is feeling better too.
“fan of sexy pirates with pink hair and starfish nipple covers” that’s an awfully specific thing to be a fan of, but I’ll raise my hand as one of them.
The long black coat really is the most appealing aspect of this figure I think. Plus the fact you can display her top-less with the coat on is also awesome. I’ve got mine displayed with coat and nipple covers on at the moment.
The red top really does make her breasts appear larger than they are and seems to distort their shape somewhat. It’s most noticeable without the jacket on as you’ve said. I like the little bag you made for her, suits the hip girl look.
The gold coins suit the pirate theme. Nice idea there, plus it breaks up the dark backdrop.
Fed up with figures?! NEVER! She’s not fully recovered yet but well enough to take photos again on her good days. She’s been processing photos for the last couple of days so hopefully we can get a review out of her soon!
Haha, I’m sure there are a lot of people who are fans of those
. Ah, I’m going to display her like that as well! Just as soon as I clean up my photo area.
Thanks! The little bag was hard, everyone wants to charge for folding designs online so I took apart a spare bag we had lying around to figure it out. And the handle is made of ripped up napkin I rolled up.

Haha, thanks!
God, I don’t think that I own a scaled figure with so many accessories or display options. I agonize over little things such as what colored ribbons to put on Nanoha I would never see the end of it if I owned this figure.
The figure is nice, I like her sassy pirate look, the pictures of her wearing only the coat are really nice. If anything the one thing I dislike is the breasts. I share your opinion on that matter.
Miette-chan recently posted..Merry Christmas and/or happy holidays!!!
She’s almost like a figma or Nendoroid with all her display options. Most of the time a figure will have one display option far superior over any other so it’s an easy choice. But Liliana is hard. Currently I have her displayed the way hamstercorp suggested but she looks pretty good fully clothed as well so I might need to switch it up sometime.
Ohhhh baby, hamstercorp knows what’s up. Jacket + topless is where it’s at. Unf unf.
It’s good to see the final version turn out great. I remember Ash complaining about how the hat seems to be barely on her head in one of the previews, but I’m guessing that photography dared not use sticky tack on a painted prototype. I really dig the fusion between the dirty manly pirate image and the neat girly-girl look. I agree on the boobs, though — not only does it look anatomically painful (but only slightly), I think the a more petite build would’ve complimented the pink hair and the frills better.
Still, she’s a cool figure, and it’s great to see a review from you again! Hurrah!

Hahaha, I’m trying to recreate that unf unf out loud and it just sounds…. well I won’t go there.
To be honest, I was using blu-tack for my first shoot (of which none of the pictures made it into this review) and the hat was a bit off. I had to goto MFC to see that the hat actually is supposed to fit snugly.
Thanks! It’s good to finally get a review out again. You need to do more too!
I have to agree with the hat, neck collar, coat top less and sans skirt display option. Is it hot in here or what? That’s also my mode of display for her at home.
Ever since Peter Pan, I’m kind of fond of Captain Hook’s uniform, really classy. And when placed on an equally sassy looking blond bombshell like Liliana……………….. really sexy x infinity!
MH really went all out with her, what with the weapon accessories and them kawaii starfish pasties. Though it kind of surprised me why MH opted for a two headed swap expression package when in their Aldra figure, they jut swapped faces? That option could have brought the price down. But then again, in this hobby of ours……….the price really doesn’t matter if you really are gunning for a particular figure.
Again, another creatively awesome presentation (really like the coin loot background………reminded me of a stage of Voldo/Cervantes in Soulcalibur.) Fits the pirate persona to a tee…………..and the shopping bag lol (is she also a shopaholic?)
She’s still displayed that way in our display case. Zai’s mum is supposed to be visiting soon though so we’ll probably need to give her back some of her modesty, haha.
I think the reason they went with 2 heads is to avoid seam lines. From what I could see, they really went to great lengths to make sure she was seamless and have lots of display/cast-off options. Like for her bare arms, they included whole extra arms just for differences in grip positions (holding sword vs holding crossbow).
I remember that stage! The Money Pit. Man, can’t wait for Soul Calibur V in a few days…
