News: Wonderful Hobby Life For You! (whl4u) Photo Comp 2011
I’m back from my interstate journeys and because my internet access was limited to only my iPhone, I couldn’t view Good Smile Company’s and Max Factory’s whl4u photo competition top 200 entries (voting now closed) until I got home last night! It was a huge, lovely surprise to see that not only did I make the top 200.. so did Luth! He did a new photo for his entry while I entered an older photo that I took.
My entry was a photo (shown above) I took during a review shoot I was doing of the Aya Kagura figma. The photo pretty much involved me quickly throwing Aya onto our window ledge and taking a snapshot.. never would have picked it to end up being one of the favourite photos that I have taken by myself while I was actually taking it. Admittedly, I entered because I was interested in the stand but I’m more than happy to make it to the top 200 and get the photo book too!
Luth’s photo is a BRS shop that he did at the last minute because he couldn’t think of anything to enter for awhile. He’s overseas at the moment but I know that he’s really happy to have made it since his goal was to get into the top 200 in the first place! I believe he wants the Nerf Gun prize the most, haha.

Both photos were taken with a Panasonic Lumix G1 using a Canon FD 50mm f1.8 lens.
In other news, I think we may have lost our first figure parcel in the mail.. thank god we decided to register it. R.I.P. K-On! Petits.

I’ve been out of the blogging loop for a bit but I see so many recognizable names and photos in there, it’s so awesome to see so many foreigners in the final 200. It’s gonna be one cool photo book we get!

Hrmm, I think I prefer Macbook. I think it’d be cool if it were customized but I don’t know if they have customized prizes this time. The gun would also be really awesome although I’d probably just constantly terrorize my boyfriend with it so I’m not sure he’d like for me to have that thing around, haha.
Good sir, its either the monitorS i was using were broken or GSC didnt do justice to your picture because it looked blurry. Good grief I love the bokeh effect you placed =D it really fits the atmosphere
Aww, I’m sorry that it looked blurry on your screen! Maybe they resized it or something.. I remember our photos not looking very nice from the thumbnails, lol.
I was lucky to get the bokeh effect, I was still learning how to use that lens when I took the photo of Aya and I was struggling. Our camera must have felt sorry for me and decided to treat me to one nice photo that day.
